Hello!
I’m Lynette “Nette” Garet and I live in San Jose, Costa Rica with my wife Silvia and our cat Phedré. My pronouns are she/her and I have four grown children (twins at 17!) and three grand littles.
I became a certified birth through DONA in 2004. My doula practice has always been a hobby for me – I never charged for assisting a birth because I was so in love with the practice. I’ve attended several hospital births (including c-sections) but most of the births I’ve assisted with have been home births with a midwife in attendance.
Two of my grand littles were born at home – my daughter is a rock star! In addition to home birthing my grandsons, she also volunteered to be the gestational surrogate for my best friend and her husband who’d been trying to conceive (TTC) for 12 years- she gave birth to their son in their home with me and a midwife in attendance.
When my son and daughter-in-law were pregnant with their first child I started searching for a good online childbirth education course for them (tough to find!). Despite the fact that she is a surgeon, my beautiful daughter-in-law had a lot of questions about her body, pregnancy, and breastfeeding, and needed a lot of support – which she got from me as her doula.
I am a content writer, copywriter, and SEO practitioner and one of my favorite clients is a master life coach. Between writing for my client, my doula hobby, and my passion for health and all things fertility and pregnancy-related, I was inspired to become a fertility and pregnancy coach.
I’m a certified health coach through Health Coach International®, a birth doula certified through DONA, a “full-spectrum” fertility, birthm and post-partum doula through DTI, and an ICEA certified child birth educator.
My aim is to combine my experience as a writer, doula, health coach, and childbirth educator to create an online space of support and learning for those who are trying to conceive, pregnant, and/or postpartum.
I want to support all families in the making – especially those who may face obstacles to getting the support they need or creating a family. For example, fertility issues that call for assisted reproductive technology (ART) – or the need for a surrogate, donor, or ART because of gender, sexual orientation, or partnership status.
